A Feel Good Friday surprise for a bunch of 6th graders who cheered on women playing pickleball

EastIdahoNews.com and Ashley in Idaho Falls and Pocatello are partnering to honor people in our community for Feel Good Friday. Every week, we surprise someone deserving of special recognition.

We recently received an email about a group of 6th graders from Hillview Elementary School who made a big difference during a pickleball game. It said:

A group of our friends (from St. Anthony) recently met at McCowin pickleball courts. When we took the court, we could see we were going to have an audience. They had a fall pumpkin activity for the sixth graders. At first we thought we should go to a different park. We started playing and these kids were the cutest nicest kids! They quickly took sides with my 80-year-old mom. They cheered her on and the chanted her name – named their team and clapped and cheered and encouraged. Then when it was over the asked for autographs on cups, leaves, papers, etc. No bad language, just positive and encouraging. The 80-year-old felt like a gold medalist. We would love to recognize their good works and example. They changed our days, weeks and months. They made us feel good about the future and the youth. What a good bunch of kids.

We decided to visit the kids and thank them for what they did. Watch the surprise in the video player above!
