Terry Lee Kraus

April 14th, 1951 - December 30th, 2023

Terry Lee Kraus, a lifelong Idahoan, born in Rigby on April 14, 1951, passed away peacefully at home on December 30, 2023 with his family. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and a deep love for his family.

Terry’s roots ran deep in the Idaho soil. Raised on a farm in Burton, he developed a deep respect for nature and a lifelong love for raising animals. This connection to the land turned into a career of building and developing the ground around him. Early on, Terry founded a construction company, his strong work ethic and hands-on approach resulted in award-winning construction projects. Farming and ranching, however, remained woven into the fabric of his life, a constant source of grounding and joy.

Terry’s greatest treasures were undoubtedly his family. Married to the love of his life, Edna Marie Taylor, for 50 years, they built a home filled with hard work, dedication, and a love of watching sports. Their union brought forth four children and 13 grandchildren, each holding a special place in Terry’s heart. He adored spending time with them, as he took them fishing in the river, hunting in the mountains, or taught them the magic of growing things in the garden. He loved having BBQ’s with his family and friends in his backyard oasis and sharing the bounties of his labor, be it a freshly caught fish or peas and potatoes from the garden, brought him immense joy.

Terry’s life was a testament to the simple pleasures and deep connections that truly matter. He will be remembered for his lifelong work ethic, his thoughtful advice, and the willingness to help anyone he could. He leaves behind a loving family: his brother Larry; sisters Marrianne & Susan; wife Marie; children: Kate (Natalie) Kraus, Kody (Kimber) Kraus, Quinton Kraus, and Jenifer Kraus; and adoring grandchildren who will carry his legacy forward.

May Terry’s memory be a blessing, living in the hearts of those who loved him.
