Steven Arave

April 16th, 1972 - December 9th, 2023









Steven Michael Arave passed away December 9, 2023, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, from complications after months of battling lymphoma.

Steve was born on April 16, 1972, in Idaho Falls to Michael Frank Arave and Jolene Tracy Arave. He was the eldest child of five. He spent his childhood in Idaho and his teen years in Utah, where he attended Skyview High School in Smithfield. His family moved back to Idaho Falls his senior year, where he graduated from Skyline High School in 1990.

Steve attended Utah State University for one year before serving in the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Mission for two years. Afterwards, he returned to Utah State University where he met the love of his life, Martha Pratt, whom he married on December 16, 1994.

Steve and Martha spent the first few years of their marriage in Utah, where Steve owned and ran several businesses. They were blessed with their beautiful daughter, Camille Taylor Arave, on July 25, 2003. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Maryland and lived there several years while he worked as a design manager for a development firm. Steve and his family moved to Idaho Falls in 2010, where he has worked in real estate and investing.

Steve was a big dreamer and planner who loved collaborating and making things happen. Hobbies throughout his life included basketball, snowmobiling, hiking, golfing, strategy games, movies, and music. His greatest love was spending time with his girls, Martha and Camille. Steve was a great man and an inspiring soul who will be missed, loved, and remembered forever.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Mike.

He is survived by his wife Martha and his daughter Camille. He is also survived by his mother Jolene, and his siblings, Jennifer (Phillip) Kalm, Travis (Cristine) Arave, Michelle Rowley, and Matthew (Andrea) Arave.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
