Carol Ivie

Carol Leona McFarlin Ivie, 66 of Mackay, Idaho, was welcomed into the arms of her loving Savior on January 8, 2024. Carol was born May 7, 1957, in Rigby, Idaho, along with her twin sister Carolyn (Lyn), to Lloyd and Bertha McFarlin. After her parents’ divorce at the age of 7 months old, Lloyd retained custody of the twins. They lived in and attended schools in Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Soda Springs and Arco, graduating from Butte County High School in 1976. Carol married Randy Ivie on November 8, 1975. They made their home in Mackay and together raised their two children, Justin and Candace.

Carol was employed as a teller and investment banker for Idaho First National Bank (now US Bank) and at Valley Vista Care Center as an assistant manager and transportation director, retiring in 2019. Throughout her life Carol was involved in many local clubs and civic organizations, including Moon Shooters Pinochle club, bowling and softball league and the Angel Tree program. She was a member of the Mackay Community Church, serving in many capacities, including as the church secretary for over 20 years.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Randy Ivie. Her son Justin (Maleah) Ivie and daughter Candace (Keith) Stayman. Her five grandchildren; Taylor Ivie, Christopher Ivie, Aislin Stayman, Tessa Stayman and Carter Ivie. Her sister Lyn (Mark) Stauffer. Six nieces, one nephew and 4 great nieces.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2024, at the Mackay Community Church, 206 Park Ave, Mackay, ID. Interment will be at Mt. McCaleb Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Carol’s honor to the Mackay Food Center or the Angel Tree program. These donations may be made at either Ireland Bank or Ivie’s Market.
