June M. Rule

June 9th, 1929 - December 20th, 2023

June Mary Rule, 94, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away December 20, 2023, at Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living. She was under the care of Symbii Home Health and Hospice and her loving family.

June was born on June 9, 1929, in Annis, Idaho, to Ray and Thelma Browning. She was one of eight children. She grew up on the family farm in Annis, attending schools there and graduating from Midway High School in Lewisville, Idaho. She attended Beauty School in Idaho Falls and became a licensed cosmetologist working in Idaho and California where she owned her own beauty salons.

She married Ted J. Jones after World War II, and was blessed with two sons, Ron and Marvin Jones. That marriage ended, and she later married Lewis M Rule, and they had one son, Milton L. Rule. With that marriage came a bonus stepdaughter, Donna, who was more like a daughter to the family.

June loved cooking for her family, reading biographies and magazines about the current movie stars and the gossip that went along with their drama. She also loved to travel, visiting Branson, Missouri, the Grand Ole Opry, the Pennsylvania Amish Countryside, and even a trip up the Alcan Highway to Alaska. She and L.M. loved spoiling their grandchildren with short trips and numerous excursions. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

June is survived by her four children: Ronald J Jones (JoAnn), Marvin Jay Jones (Chris), Donna Rule Lunsford, and Milton Lewis Rule (Shonni); 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2023, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. Services will be broadcast live at www.woodfuneralhome.com. Burial will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
